During his degree in Fine Art at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in Milan, Andrea completed an apprenticeship in a restoration laboratory in Milan to learn the antique painting techniques and colour mixing. Since then he has dedicated himself to oil painting on canvas and old wooden panels. His technical skill in fresco restoration has led to commissions for frescoes and murals.

Andrea's most recent "paintings" are composed of recycled material, such as glass, mirror, tiles, malachite and fool's gold, to create harmony of colour and texture. The composition must be spontaneous and immediate, like a painting "en plein air". Some of his works are inspired from the forms and colours of Jersey.

Andrea is a professional fresco restorer and is able to undertake to repeair or produce frescoes in Jersey (contact Art in the Frame).

Andrea will be back in the island in late summer and will be taking part in a large group exhibition with us - 'Celebration of the Sea'.

Andrea is married to local girl Alice Carnegie and he regularly visits Jersey. Art in the Frame foundation were delighted that he exhibited at their launch exhibition Mélange in September 2001.
Andrea acted as a guide in Milan for the Art in the Frame 2002 art trip to Italy. Whilst in Milan we visited the restored fresco of Leonardo da Vinci's 'Last Supper'.
