Bianca Acronzio
Through a journey of self-exploration, this collection of work is created using innovative processes adapted from the traditional and indigenous. Tradition has an identity of its own, a universal character. It shows the potential of traditional techniques such as "Shibori" and natural dyeing, to produce a combination of primitive, sophisticated and contemporary processes in an ecological way.
The work, individually developed, shows alchemy transformation and memory, simultaneously creating a theme as well as a process. The viewer is presented with this organic ambience created by nature, clarifying the relationship between man and nature. This enables the viewer to become ecologically aware of the artist's personal journey and the transformation of nature's cycles of life into art.
Recently exhibited in Patterns in Nature and having run shibori workshops, Bianca will be exhibiting shibori & indigo dyed pieces at Textile Showcase 2005.
