Deanna Tyson
Deanna Tyson is a freelance textile artist. She exhibits both nationally and internationally and her textile works are on display in galleries throughout the U.K. She has received numerous awards for her thought provoking creations. She specialises in the art of silk painting and in the interpretation of the kimono.
Deanna is currently Chairperson of the Guild of Silk Painters. Working mainly to commission, her textile pieces are in collections from Dubai to India, U.K. to U.S. and from Poland to The Netherlands.
"I delight in working with clients to create unique pieces. Wall hangings, banners, waistcoats, pictures and kimono in painted and stitched silks and calico cottons. I love the challenge of expressing a client's visions in my particular style."
Deanna is also active as a tutor in Cambridge teaching silk painting at Coleridge College. She also teaches drawing, painting and silk painting at her own private studio in Fulbourn, Cambridge where she runs both weekly courses and Saturday
workshops on the second Saturday of each month. She also gives talks and demonstrations.
Deanna Tyson is an invited guest at the Textile Showcase in April, 2004.
