Ruth Lee
Ruth is an associate lecturer at The University of Cumbria, fibre artist, international tutor, writer and knitted textile designer.
Ruth is passionate about moving knit forward as a challenging and relevant working method within contemporary fibre arts practice, either as a stand-alone technique or as part of a multi-disciplinary approach. Of particular interest is how ideas evolve through the making process, and the symbiotic relationship between materials, process and concepts.
Multi-disciplinary in approach, Ruth's current body of work explores knit, stitch, print and off-loom techniques in a wide range of manmade and natural materials. Applications includes small-scale wearables, knitting patterns for publications, exhibitions and site-specific fibre-arts work for exterior spaces.
