Judged by Textile Artist Diane Bates, 10th March 2009
These awards are for textile artists born, living or working in Jersey.
Diane Bates was very impressed by the extremely high standard of work on exhibition and found it very difficult to decide on the awards as so many of the artists could have been entered for at least 3 awards each.
The first 7 awards were sponsored by Neil and Angela Watson from Renaissance Property Management, Peterborough.
The last 2 awards were sponsored by Art in the Frame Foundation.
Art in the Frame Foundation was delighted that Neil and Angela Watson were in Jersey for the Gala Dinner on 12th March at the Somerville Hotel to present their awards and that Diane Bates was there to present the awards on behalf of the Foundation.
The dinner seats were totally sold out and for the first time people were unable to get seats for this popular and colourful event.
There's a photo-page of the award-winners being presented with their awards by Neil Watson.
Art in the Frame runs an Open Competition each year which attracts entries from the UK, Europe and worldwide.
The theme for the 2009 Textile Showcase was , Transformation.
The generous prizes were donated by Art in the Frame Foundation.
