Carlton: 14.4.2001:
750 plants at 633.532.
50 at 633.533.
50 at the foot of the ash tree at 636.534 but by far the largest number (circa1200) at 633.534, [sic] a stretch of about 20 paces on the northwestern side of the path just as it turns and you begin to lose sight of the junction with what the O.S. calls Brook Lane: circa 156 paces from the footbridge over the stream and almost opposite a smaller patch on the southeastern side of the path.
636.534 is on the southeastern side of the path: 28 paces beyond a metal footbridge on the opposite side of the path and about 50 paces short of a right angle bend where the path turns to a southeasterly direction.
All sites have of course been noted before but it was good to see far more than I did in 1997. (sketch map) JCA Rathmell in litt. 15.4.2001.
