Filago pyramidata L. (F. spathulata C.Presl)
Conservation status: EN
First record: GS Gibson, 1843
[Chrishall Grange, Gibson, 1843, New to Britain, Phytol.(1842–5)3:216, Jermyn, Fl Essex,1974.]
Filago Jussiaei, which occurs plentifully from within two miles of Cambridge to the town of Linton, is probably... F. spathulata(Presl.)... that previously to the discovery of F. Jussiaei near Linton by Mr GS Gibson, it had been found in Sussex by Mr Mitten, and in Dorsetshire by Mr. Woods. C.C.B. Ann.Mag,Nat.Hist.Series 2 (1848),2:292–293.
Filago Jussiaei ...gathered four or five years ago,... My attention was again called to it a short time ago by Joshua Clarke, when on a botanical excursion in Cambridgeshire,... The locality for it in this neighbourhood is road–sides and cultivated fields, on a sandy soil, in the borders of Cambridgeshire and Essex. It frequently grows intermixed with F. germanica... G.S.Gibson, July 1848. Notice on the Discovery of Filago Jussiaei near Saffron Walden. GS Gibson, Phytol.(1848)3(1):216.
