Pyrus communis L. subsp. pyraster (Burgsd.) Syme, Downing Arms, fruits very small, possibly of considerable age, track was formerly named after this species, K Humphries, c. 1940; outside the Downing Arms between Croydon & Tadlow, 310.553 error for 296.479, tree c.10m (cut down in 1988), PD Sell 87/26 & L Nicol, 24.4.1987, CGE.
