Planning a leave.

Red is for the peg, Blue is for 5 (just blobbed). Black and Yellow are for 1.

You really want to play yellow, but this could be disastrous if you miss.

You decide to play red and make a good leave for yellow - how?

Answer: Think ahead.

First of all you don't want to lay up for Yellow near hoop 1 (too dangerous as black is also for hoop 1).

Best to leave one opponent ball at hoop 1 and the other at hoop 2. Does it matter which way round?

Can you leave either Black or Blue at its own hoop? Yes - leave black at 1, blue at 2.

• Rush blue hard to the south boundary
• Send Blue to 2 ending near Black
• Rush black nearer 1
• Take off to yellow for a rush to corner 3
• Try and leave a rush to the blue ball at hoop 2.
