Synopsis
Onegin centres its story on Evgeny Onegin (Ralph Fiennes), an outspoken
and arrogant aristocrat. Following an introduction into his dilettante
lifestyle in St Petersburg, the film moves to the countryside estate which
Evgeny inherits from his dying uncle. Evgeny befriends his new neighbour,
Vladimir Lensky (Toby Stephens), and develops a romantic interest in his
sister Tatyana (Liv Tyler).

The film is an impressive directorial debut from Fiennes' sister Martha.
A powerful and moving romantic tragedy, the film is a visual treat set
within the striking backdrop of St Petersburg. A well-acted, elegant and
beautifully-shot period drama.
