Synopsis

Bus Stop tells the story of an itinerant rodeo cowboy (Murray) and his love for a second-rate café singer (Monroe). After a mix of pain and humour, played out against the backdrop of Phoenix, Arizona, the cowboy gets his gal.

Bus Stop was the one film Monroe completely controlled, as her business partner, photographer Hilton Green, was in general charge. She chose her costumes and make-up, selected the director, Josh Logan, and cinematographer.

Paula Strasberg coached her for the part in the method school of acting and it shows.
