Last Meeting
In January we of course held our A.G.M. as usual and we were pleased
to see a good attendance, which we appreciate. The committee remains
as before except that Yolande Pilnick did not stand for re-election
and her place has been taken by June Tredant, who we are sure will
be a valuable asset. Our thanks to Yolande for her efforts on behalf
of P.D.S. and for agreeing to help us with future events when needed
and when possible.
Pill Box for Sale
At the A.G.M. Peter Hobson brought along a fine pill box, of the
type with a separate compartment for each day of the week. This
is available at a price of only £5, so if you are interested
please give Peter a call on 724660.
Winter Heating
Enclosed with this newsletter is a leaflet with tips and good advice
on keeping warm in winter. We also have available booklets on armchair

Social
Get-Togethers
A supper is being organised on Friday 28th March 2003 at 6.15 p.m.
for 6.30 p.m. at the Corbiere Phare. Please phone Eileen by Saturday
8th March if you would like to go. This is a free outing for sufferers
and their carers. Transport can be arranged.
New Members
We would like to let new members know what is available to them:-
On Mondays at 3.15 p.m. at Georgetown Methodist Church Hall. Dao
Yin class (this consists of gentle seated exercises/good for balance,
strengthening muscles and a general feeling of well being).
On Wednesdays at 2 p.m. at Cheshire Homes.
Swimming (this is very friendly group activity, you do not need
to be a swimmer. We all benefit from a heated pool and help is on
hand to help you exercise tired limbs and have fun at the same time).
A taxi service is available to take you to and from doctors, hospital
appointments etc.
All of the above are funded by the society and available to you
as a sufferer. For further details telephone Eileen Smith on 737128.
She will be ready to welcome you to any of the branch's classes
or get togethers.
Holidays for sufferers
There has been little response to our offer to provide a free weeks
holiday for less able bodied sufferers, with their carers, at Maison
des Landes Hotel from 30th April. Other dates may also be available.
Remember you only need to be a member of Jersey Branch and it would
not matter if you have not previously been to any of our activities.
Our aim is to help all sufferers and carers and you would not be
in any way obligated to take part in anything that you did not wish
to. If you are interested give Roger a call on 731145.
Next meeting
Our next meeting will consist of a light hearted quiz, of the trivia
type and arranged in teams, so that anyone can join in. Roger and
Joyce will be organising this and it will be at Communicare, St.
Brelade as usual, at 8 p.m. on Tuesday 25th February. We hope to
see you there.
