Early Bird Newsletter
You may think the last month has gone by quickly, however never fear
it is just us bringing the newsletter forward by a week! There is
a good reason for this because in April we will have a visit from
our area representative, Sheila Windsor, during Awareness Week and
because the April meeting will be brought forward by two weeks we
are bringing the March meeting forward by one week, so as to even
out the spaces between the meetings as best as we can. If this all
seems as clear as mud do not worry, just take note of the dates of
the next meetings given at the end of this and the following newsletter.
Last Meeting
Our February meeting included a quiz organised by Eileen, with Marian
keeping the scores. The quiz was based on the T.V. programme Wipeout,
which involved teams losing all their points gained when they gave
a wrong answer. The winning team in any other form of quiz would have
been Valma's Violets with Valma, Madeline, Jack, Winston and Anne
as they had almost every right answer but unluckily lost their high
score near the end. This left two teams as equal first namely
Joyce's Jewels with Joyce, Roger, Olga, Alan and Maureen and Peter's
Petals with Peter, Clive Ivy and June. There was an instant death
play off with several rounds of questions and eventually the lucky
winners were Joyce's Jewels.
Difficult to open medicine bottles
If you have difficulty opening the type of medicine bottles which
need twisting to a specific place for opening ask your chemist for
an Easy Cap, which will fit over the bottle to facilitate easy opening.
These are also available at the Hospital Pharmacy. Also always remember
to check your prescription to make sure there has been no mistake,
but remember that some drugs have a brand name and others are named
after the ingredients. If you are worried about anything telephone
Neurocare on 623077.

Next meeting
Our next meeting will be at Communicare, St. Brelade at 8 p.m as usual
but will be on Tuesday 19th March, rather than the usual fourth Tuesday
of the month. Please also make a note in your diary that the following
meeting will be even earlier, on Tuesday 9th April. This month our
speaker will be the well known Mike Stentiford, who writes in the
J.E.P. and speaks on Radio Jersey about birds and wildlife in general.
At this meeting Mike will be giving a presentation on The Falkland
Islands, with slides, and we expect this to be very entertaining and
informative. |
